There’s a beautiful range of things you can do when you live at Crystalbrook Retreat – both next-door, in town and further afield.

Lake Proserpine

Next-door goodness…

  • Crystalbrook Retreat sits across the road from Camp Kanga, a popular camping centre run by the local Lion’s club.
  • Across the road is the beautiful Proserpine River – perfect for swimming, fishing, and floating down the water in a rubber tire.
  • One kilometre from Crystalbrook Retreat is Lake Proserpine. If you’re into fishing, Lake Proserpine is one of the best spots in Queensland for catching barramundi. Otherwise, Lake Proserpine is a beautiful place for boating, kayaking, swimming and picnicking. Lake Proserpine includes a playground for children, and BBQ areas by the lake.

Cedar Creek Falls

Just down the road…

Within twenty minutes of Crystalbrook Retreat there is:

  • a popular swimming hole in the Proserpine River – perfect for summer (and winter too).
  • the parks, swimming pool, sporting venues and shops in Proserpine.
  • Cedar Creek Falls – a beautiful and popular waterfall that is wonderful for swimming, bush climbing and picnics.
  • Conway National Park – stunning rainforests, bushwalks and camping.

Great Barrier Reef

And slightly further down the road…

  • There are a dozen different beaches around the area that are all stunning and unique in their own ways – including Conway Beach, Dingo Beach and Midge Point.
  • Cannonvale and Airlie Beach are perfect to spend the afternoon at for shopping and swimming – they both have relaxed village vibes.
  • Bowen (used for filming parts of the Australia movie) has its own stunning beaches and reefs is only 45 minutes from Crystalbrook Retreat.
  • Take boat trips out to the Great Barrier Reef for whale watching and snorkelling.
  • Go to Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, South Molle Island or Daydream Island (or any of the other 70+ islands) for a beautiful island day.
  • Go sailing in the Whitsunday Passage.
  • For a day of more cosmopolitan delights, Mackay is only an hour away.
