Our vision is to have Crystalbrook Retreat as a community of healers, teachers, artists, spiritually-minded people, families, and people who are passionate about natural living.
When we first started dreaming of Crystalbrook Retreat, we didn’t always talk about our total vision for the place – we hoped that the right people would end up being called here anyway. But now we see that we really do need to share our vision of Crystalbrook Retreat… so that you’ll know if you belong here, and want to be a part of this beautiful new space and community with us.
We’ve been the custodians of this land for thirty years now. Our children and grandchildren have been raised here, and this land has a special place in our hearts as being our homelands – and the place we feel most like ourselves, the closest to the earth and closer to each other. We have been blessed to live here, and grow up surrounded by the land, and animals, and each other.
Our next big dream is for this place to become a healing place for not just us, but for anyone who is called to living here, and to create a living, vibrant, supportive, positive community.
What we’ve already done at Crystalbrook Retreat:
Our intention is to help this land be as positive, joyful and naturally abundant as possible.
We have already created a meditation labyrinth on it by the river, and the whole of the retreat has already had a crystal grid placed around it. The land has also been smudged with sage and drummed on, and we are always working with the animals, trees, angels and energies of the land.
Crystalbrook Retreat also has large areas that are already sectioned off as habitat for the endangered Proserpine Rock Wallaby, and we will continue to nurture and support the local animals, wildlife and eco-system of the area.
What we’d love to have in the future:
Our vision is to have people living at Crystalbrook Retreat who enjoy both the solace and peace of the country, as well as creating a nurturing, supportive community.
Some wonderful possibilities include:
- Part of Crystalbrook Retreat has been reserved for a retreat centre, to be run by one of our family - Leonie Allan. The retreat centre will be used for workshops and retreats, including meditation weekends, creative festivals, yoga, NIA dance workshops, sacred ceremonies, vision quests, massage clinics and healing retreats.
- We would love to have teachers and healers visit from around the world to run their workshops at Crystalbrook Retreat Centre, including authors running book experience weekends.
- A community that supports, inspires and uplifts each other.
- Creating a fruits and vegetable co-operative to exchange the surplus from our gardens.
- Forming a community-based schooling initiative (ala Steiner or Montessori).
